Frequently asked questions
How do you set the price?
We take the route Google Maps suggests from Ivato airport to your hotel and charge a pickup fee of 50,000 Ar or €10, plus 15,000 Ar or €3 per km, at least 150,000 Ar or €30 per car. The price is fixed before you get in, so a detour would never earn us a single ariary. Check your route before you book, or see the price to each district of Antananarivo.
What if my flight is delayed?
We follow your flight and count from when your plane actually lands, so a delay costs nothing extra. Waiting is free for 1 h 30 after landing, enough time for the visa, passport control and your bags. After that, waiting costs 25,000 Ar or €5 per started half hour. If your flight number or date changes, just send us the new one.
Do I need a visa for Madagascar?
Yes. You can get it on arrival at Ivato or apply online before you fly. Read our Madagascar visa guide, and what happens after landing in our Ivato arrival guide.
Do you pick up at night?
Yes, day and night, at the same price. Many international flights land late in the evening, and that is no problem.
Any safety tips for Antananarivo?
Pickpockets are common in Antananarivo, so keep your phone out of sight and wear your backpack on your front in crowds. Read our three safety tips for Antananarivo. At the airport, Vanessa meets you in the arrivals hall, so you go straight from the plane to the car.
Can I book on WhatsApp?
Ask us anything on WhatsApp, but book with the booking form: then your flight, landing time and hotel are in writing, and nothing gets lost between messages. It takes a minute.
How do I pay?
You pay at the end of the ride, in cash in euros or ariary, or by mobile money. There is no deposit and nothing to pay in advance: the day before, Vanessa simply sends you a message, and you tap I'm coming. If anyone asks you to pay before your trip, it is not us.
